Copyright page generator for your book

Most books have a copyright page right after the title page. It states who owns the work, when it was published, and what readers may do with it. It also holds the ISBN and the publisher details.

Fill in the fields you have and leave the others empty. The tool writes the standard wording with your details and returns Markdown you can paste into your manuscript. Tick the fiction box if the book is a work of fiction, to add the usual notice about names and events.

This is common boilerplate, not legal advice. Copyright law differs between countries, and a lawyer or your publisher can tell you if you need extra statements, such as a licence or permissions for quoted material.

How to use it

  1. Enter the title, rights holder and year.
  2. Add the optional details you have.
  3. Copy the Markdown to the start of your book.

Worked example

Produces a Copyright heading, the rights line and the fiction notice.
