Markdown cheat sheet

This page lists the Markdown syntax you will use most, with the result next to each example. It is built to print on a single sheet.

Each row shows what to type and what it means. The syntax is the common core that works in MarkdownBooks and in most other tools. A few items, such as footnotes, are extensions: they work in the book converter but not in every Markdown viewer.

Use your browser's print command to print or save a PDF. The page switches to a compact black-on-white layout for printing.
