Markdown checklist generator
A task list in Markdown is a list where each line starts with - [ ] for an open task or - [x] for a finished one. Many editors and sites turn them into clickable checkboxes.
Type one item per line. If you paste a list that already has bullets or numbers, they are removed first so you do not get doubled markers. You can sort the items from A to Z, or mark every item as done. Reorder by editing the lines before you convert.
The output is plain Markdown. Checkboxes only become clickable on platforms that support them, such as GitHub issues; in a printed book they appear as empty or ticked boxes.
How to use it
- Type or paste the items.
- Choose the order and state.
- Copy the task list.
Worked example
Three lines become three - [ ] task items.
