Markdown to EPUB converter

EPUB is the open e-book format used by most readers outside the Kindle store. This tool builds an EPUB 3 file from one Markdown manuscript so you can inspect it, share it or upload it to a store.

The converter uses the default EPUB template, adds a table of contents and splits the book at level-one headings. Headings, lists, tables, quotes, code blocks and public https images are carried through. The result is a reflowable e-book, not a fixed page layout.

The upload is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes, success or failure. The EPUB stays available for 24 hours. If you need another template or a multi-file manuscript with local images, use Create Book.

One .md file, up to 10 MB. Zip files and local image files are not accepted here; use Create Book for those.

The upload is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes. The generated file is kept for 24 hours.

How to use it

  1. Choose one Markdown (.md) file, up to 10 MB.
  2. Start the conversion and wait for the job to finish.
  3. Download the EPUB and open it in your e-book reader.

Worked example
