Convert Obsidian notes to standard Markdown
Obsidian adds its own syntax on top of Markdown: [[wiki links]], ![[embeds]], callout boxes and ==highlights==. Other tools, including book converters, do not understand them and show the raw symbols.
Paste your note. Wiki links become normal links to a .md file, with a heading anchor when you link to a section. Image embeds become image tags that point to an images folder, callouts become a bold title in a quote, highlights become bold text, and %%comments%% are removed. Code blocks are left untouched.
Embedded notes cannot be expanded here, because their text lives in another file; they are replaced by a visible marker so you can merge them by hand. Images cannot be included in a single .md upload yet, so MarkdownBooks will show their alt text instead.
How to use it
- Paste the Obsidian note.
- Copy the converted Markdown.
- Upload the .md file to MarkdownBooks.
Worked example
Becomes a normal link and a bold callout title.
